Mr. Crotty maintains an active trial and appellate practice representing corporations, partnerships and individuals in complex business litigation matters throughout the United States. He has represented clients as plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil matters, including: legal malpractice; breach of contract; securities fraud; breach of fiduciary duty; employment discrimination; trade secret violations; accountant malpractice; insurance coverage; consumer fraud; RICO; civil conspiracy; fraudulent conveyance and class actions.

Among his litigation accomplishments, Mr. Crotty:

• Recovered in excess of $100 million on behalf of the bankruptcy estate of a financial holding company prosecuting claims of accounting malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty; legal malpractice and fraudulent conveyance;

• Successfully defended a German manufacturing company in a $17 million fraudulent conveyance and breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit;

• Won a multi-million verdict on behalf of a large private equity firm, following a four week bench trial on a breach of contract claim;

• Successfully defended a transportation company from race, age and national origin discrimination claims;

• Obtained a multi-million settlement on behalf of a real estate developer prosecuting legal malpractice claims against his former corporate attorneys;

• Successfully defended a client in a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief for the alleged breach of a non-competition and non-solicitation agreement; and

• Negotiated a pre-filing settlement of securities fraud claims on behalf of a family corporation against an Illinois financial institution.

Mr. Crotty also has extensive experience counseling corporations and senior executives with respect to executive compensation, employment arrangements and corporate governance matters. He frequently negotiates employment agreements and exit packages and on behalf of senior executives of Fortune 500 companies
